Jello Jiggle Tag
I got the idea for this tutorial after seeing a lovely tag, with a Jello effect on it. After asking Dream how she made it, finding out it she was playing with the Tool Liquify in Photo Shop, I was challenged to make it into a tutorial for PSP 8, using one of my favorite tools the Warp Brush. It can not be done in earlier version of PSP, as PSP 8 was the first one with the Warp Brush. My tutorials are only guidelines to help you accomplish a certain creation. Please feel free to be inventive and take whatever liberties you would like. I hope each of you enjoy this tutorial. Your finished creation is yours to do with as you please, other than make a profit from it.
Tutorial was written on August 17, 2004 Supplies you will need: Jasc Paint Shop Pro HERE PSP Version 8 Demo Supplies HERE zipped and in its own Folder. Place in your Tutorial Folders for easy access. I have provided the Font, 5 Tubes: Jello Cube, Limes, Cherries, Oranges, Strawberry. Unzip and place them in a folder of your choice. The font does not have to be installed in Window, you can simply open it and minimize. When you open PSP it will be available when needed. Flaming Pear Super Blade Pro Here Super
Blade Pro Preset Glass There are 3 pages of glass presets that you can choose from to match or coordinate with your fruit and jello. This is a wonderful site for glass presets so don't forget to come back.....LOL. 1. Open the Jello Cube Tube, duplicate Shift+D, and close the original. Now do a "Save As" and rename your work to Jello In Process, or your choice. Open your Font and minimize it. 2. Some decision to make already........Yikes......... The tubes I have provided for the fruit is Limes, Oranges, Cherries and Strawberry. You have to decide what fruit you want, so we can now colorize the Jello Cube to match it. Adjust/Hue and Saturation/Colorize with settings below.
3. Ok, now off we go. Select the bottom layer on your layer palette and flood fill with White #FFFFFF. (This animation does not look good as a transparent gif). So you can use any color for your background now. Remember to Save often, so you don't have to start over. 4. Open the Fruit tube of your choice. Edit/Copy - Close Tube. Edit/Paste as "New Layer" and move to the position you like and resize if necessary. Rename this layer "Fruit". 5. Select your Brush Tool/Warp Brush, and set it up as in ScreenShot below:
6. I have made a lot of Screen Shots for this tutorial, and I found it difficult to tell you in words where to place your warp brush. This Animation can take on a life of its own, believe me I struggled and some of the ended up looking like an earthquake, or a nervous breakdown had happened. So make your warps fairly mild. Keep that in mind when warping the cube, and be especially careful on the edges. The numbers are the order that I did it, and the arrows show which way to warp..... :) I will always show you the previous cube and then what to change and direction. Save
7. On Layer palette, right click and select Duplicate for the JelloCube_patao, layer and rename it "Cube 2". See Screen Shots below for your guides for warping. Save
8. Duplicate Cube 2 layer, and rename it Cube 3. Your guides are below for warping. Save
9.Select you Text Tool and set it as follows. - Vector - Broadview, or your choice - Size 48 - Color I used #ECCECE, so that it was easy to see on the white background. Apply the text with your words, or name. With vector tool implemented, rotate to the position your want it. On layer palette Convert to Raster Layer. Selections/Select all. Selections/Float. Selections/Defloat. Apply the Super Blade Pro glass preset that you chose. I used CandyApple. 10. Add a New Raster Layer, Name it Frame. (I frame my tags, so they can be used on any background color, or Stats and still look completed. Selections/Select all. Selections/Modify/Contract by 10. Selections/Invert. Flood Fill with the same color as your text. Apply the Same Super Blade Pro preset. 11. Add a New Raster Layer, Name it Watermark, or signature and apply your watermark. 12.On the Layer palette turn OFF Cube 2 and 3 Layers. 13. With Jello_Cube layer active or highlighted save to your folder as "Cube 1" 14. Turn OFF Jello_Cube Layer and turn ON Cube 2 Layer. Save as "Cube 2" 15. Turn OFF Cube 2 layer, and turn ON Cube 3 Layer. Save As "Cube 3" 16. Now lets open Animation Shop. Lets set up your Preferences so you never have to Merge an Animation again.
17. Use your Animation Wizard As follows.
Next
Next Your Animation is now open in the main frame. You can now view your Animation by selecting the VIEW ANIMATION on the TOP RIGHT of the Menu. If you are satisfied with the speed and look you can now do your "Save As", by naming it and placing it in the folder of your choice. Congratulations your Jello is Jiggling..... :) I would like to Thank my Tester.
