We will be using only PSP7.
My tutorials are only guidelines to help you accomplish a certain creation.
Please feel free to be inventive and take whatever liberties you would
like. I hope each of you enjoy this tutorial. Your finished creation
is yours to do with as you please.
Screen shots are resized and for faster loading. Don't forget to SAVE
your work often. I am providing directions for the GOLDEN CARRIAGE,
only.
This tutorial is written in and for PSP Version 7.04 and
assumes you have a good working knowledge of PSP and Animation Shop.
I am sure this can easily be done in Versions with a few adjustments.
NOTE:
It is important when following this selections tutorial, that you are
careful to follow along close in the Naming and Renaming of layers.
This will keep you from getting confuzzled, on what layer is what, as
I will refer to them by name.
Please remember to 'SAVE OFTEN" So you do NOT loose all your hard
work. So now shall we begin.....*SMILE*
1. Open a New Image in PSP, transparent 500X345.
Add a new Raster layer and name it "Back Carriage"
Go to top menu/Selections/Load from Disk, browse to the selections folder
and choose "Back Carriage Selection"
(From this point forward I will refer to this as LFD (Load from Disk)
Flood Fill the selection with White #FFFFFF
Effects/Plugins/SuperBladePro and select the preset you like the best,
I used gold-glitter, but this is you choice here. I'm not sure where
I got it, so can not provide it for you.
Effects/Sharpen/Sharpen
Selections/Select None
Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow.... see Screen Shot Below
Now SAVE you work to the Folder you have created for
this tutorial. I named mine "Golden Carriage IN PROCESS" in
psp format.
2. Add a New layer and name it "Frame Front"
Open the WOOD Tile in PSP and minimize it.
LFD Frame Front
Flood Fill with Pattern_Wood_NaturalOak Angle 265 Scale 100%
Selections/Select None
Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow ........ See Screen Shot Below
3. Add a New layer and name it "Frame Seat"
LFD "Frame Seat"
Flood Fill with the Wood Again, changing the ANGLE to 86 and SCALE to
80%
Select/Select None
Effects/Drop Shadow Same Settings. Are you SAVING????
4. Add a new layer name it "Seat"
LFD "Seat EDGE"
Flood Fill with White #FFFFFF
Apply same SuperBladePro preset
Effects/Sharpen/Sharpen
Select/Select None
5. On the SAME layer
LFD "Seat Top"
Flood Fill with color of your choice. I used #800080
Effects/3D Effect/Inner Bevel, See Screen Shot
Select/Select None
On Layer Palette, DUPLICATE
Image/Mirror and move left to match seat 1
Turn off all layers, EXCEPT
Seat and Copy of Seat
Layers/Merge/Merge Visible and rename "Seats"
Turn all layers BACK ON, for viewing
6. Add a new Layer name it "Front Carriage"
LFD "Front Carriage"
Flood Fill with White and apply SBP present you choose.
Effects/Sharpen
Select/Select None
Effect/Drop Shadow....... Same as STEP 2 TIME TO SAVE AGAIN *S*
7. Add a new layer name it "Frame Axle"
LFD "Frame Ax el"
Flood Fill with Gray #404040
Effects/3D Effects/Inner Bevel... GROOVE - Default
Select/Select None
On Layer Palette.... DUPLICATE
Image/Mirror and place on top of wooden Frame...see Screen Shot Step
10 for placement.
8. Add New layer name it "Wheel"
LFD "Wheel"
Flood Fill with White "FFFFFF and apply SBP preset of your choice.
Apply same Drop Shadow
On Layer Palette DUPLICATE Wheel layer and move to left Ax el, being
careful to
align the bottom of wheel with Right Wheel.
9. Turn OFF all layers EXCEPT for "WHEEL and COPY of WHEEL.
Layers/Merge/Merge Visible and Rename "WHEELS"
Turn all layers back ON, for viewing. Oooppsssiiieeee SAVING????
10. Activate the Wheel Layer and Duplicate.
With your Mover Tool, slide Up and Left just a little.
On you layer palette Drag "Copy of Wheel" layer BELOW Frame
Font Layer
See Screen Shot.
11. Activate 2nd layer or Copy of Frame Ax el on layer palette
Add a new Layer name it "Trim 1"
LFD "Trim 1"
Flood Fill with White and apply SBP preset
Effects/Sharpen/Sharpen
Apply Drop Shadow CHANGING Vertical to 1
12. Add a new layer name it "Trim 2"
LFD "Trim 2"
Flood Fill with White and apply SBP preset
Effects/Sharpen/Sharpen
Select/Select None
Apply Drop Shadow SAME settings
13. Open in PSP your Crown Top White Fleuron tube.
Edit Copy/Edit paste to you working Image. As a NEW LAYER
Move to TOP CENTER of Carriage.
Selections/Select All
Selections/Float
Apply SBP preset
Effects/Sharpen/Sharpen
Select/Select None
Apply Drop Shadow SAME settings
14. On layer palette, DUPLICATE Fleuron layer you just made.
With mover tool, place UNDER the edge of Seat Frame.
Duplicate again and move to back Ax el BELOW Gold Trim.
You can look the Graphic at beginning for help on location.
15. Activate Wheels Layer
Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow
Color Blk.... V_0 H-2 Opacity 63 Blur 1.2
16. Turn OFF Layer 1
Turn OFF Back Carriage
Turn OFF Seats.
Merge/Merge Visible and rename Carriage Front
Now if you want to put anything inside carriage, put it BELOW Carriage
Front.
SAVE...... for future USE.....
