My Favorite Beeper
I wrote this tutorial after numerous request from friends
that had seen my tag.....*S* and after making several, its seems time
to do this tutorial. My tutorials are only guidelines to help you accomplish a certain creation. Please feel free to be inventive and take whatever liberties you would like. I hope each of you enjoy this tutorial. Your finished creation is yours to do with as you please. This tutorial is written in and for PSP Version 7.04 and assumes you have a good working knowledge of PSP and Animation Shop. I am sure this can easily be done in other versions with a few adjustments. Supplies you will need: Jasc Paint Shop Pro HERE PSP Version 8 Demo Supplies HERE NOT zipped. Place in your Folder for easy access. Flaming Pear SuperBladePro HERE Demo ***It has been called to my attention that the little Red Horns, are not available if you are using PSP8, thru the Objects 2 from PSP 7. I have therefore made a .jsl of them for V8 users. Place the jsl in your MyPSP8 Files, Preset Shape Folder. Then be sure your V8 Preferences File Locations are pointing to that folder. HERE If you have gathered all your goodies, let begin playing.... :) Remember to SAVE OFTEN. 1. Open the Beeper Tube in PSP, Duplicate and close the Original. 2. Save your New Image 1 as "Beeper In Process." 3. Add a new transparent layer, and name it Deco 1. NOTE all your text, Deco's, Colors and sizes are your choice. I am providing only how I did it, so some things will be different than mine.
4. Add a new transparent layer, and name it Deco 2.
5. Duplicate Deco 2 layer. Activate Copy of Deco 2 layer, Image/Mirror and with the Mover Tool, Adjust your 2 arrows, staying within the left half of the Beeper area. Save 6. Duplicate Copy of Deco 2 again. Image/Rotate 90 Degrees Right, All Layers UNchecked. Effects Sharpen/Sharpen. Duplicate Deco 2 layer again. Image/Flip Effects Sharpen/Sharpen .Use Mover Tool to adjust. Below Screen Shots shows what you should have now.Save
7. Turn OFF the following layers: Beeper_patao, Deco 1. Layers/Merge/Merge Visible. Right click on Merged layer and Rename Arrows. 8. Add a new transparent layer and name it Horns
9. Add a new transparent layer and name it Pearl or Gem.
10. Turn OFF the Following Layers: Beeper_Patao, Deco 1, Arrows. Top Menu/Layers/Merge/MergeVisible and Rename Deco 3 11. Add a New Transparent Layer and name it Deco 4.
12. Add a New Transparent Layer and name it TEXT.
13. Activate the TEXT Layer and choose the next letter moving Left to Right. A second option for selecting the Letters is to use your Lasso Tool going carefully in between the next two letters, then Left Click to bring the selection around the letter. See Screen Shot below:
14. Once your have promoted each Letter to its own layer, its a good idea to check each letter, layer by layer for any of the nasty little stray pixels that may have snuck in there on you. You can just use your Eraser Tool set small on those. If you have difficulty finding them use your Mover tool, Zoom in on them and with your mover tool click your mouse on it. It will immediately activate the layer it is really on. 15. Lets do our SaveAs for Animation Shop now. The following layers will be Left On: Beeper_patao, Deco 1, Arrows, Deco 2, Deco 3.
16. Now lets open Animation Shop. Lets set up your Preferences so you never have to Merge an Animation again.
17. Use your Animation Wizard as follows.
Load all your saves mine were 1 thru 20.
You Animation is now open in the main frame. With each frame numbered with the Frame number and second the Frame Speed. Go to your last Frame, using the scroll on the bottom of your Animation frames. Select the last frame/Right Click on the window/Properties/Changing it from 15 to 80 This allows the whole word to stay on the screen longer for your viewers to read. Select VIEW animation on the top menu, to check it for speeds so you can make changes prior to saving. When you are satisfied go to the Top Menu/Files/Save As and browse to the Folder of your Choice. This window will then appear and we want to Customize our OutPut, so we don't have little jaggies of black or another color along the edges of your finished animation.
