The following poem was brought to my attention by my

dear friend Karen. She asked if I would like to make a graphic for Sherry, and after reading it, I found it would be an honor to do it. Sherry's poetry certainly expresses the way may people think today, with the way the world is crumbling. However we hold on as we know the Lord is with us.

I hope you enjoy her poetry as much as I have.

Our Future

I mourn for a future we cannot see
Things to come that will stifle our dreams
The world as we see it and know it
Lost forever as man continues to scheme

We live in a mighty nation, leaders of the world
Our land was blessed and freely we lived
Untied as a nation we made our stand
We hailed our God, cared not who knew

We prayed as a nation in front of the world
United together in God we did trust
In our fee land, our lives were surreal

Prayer was removed from our schools
Our God we left at home all alone
Our children were taught that freedom
Of prayer no longer belonged

God in our government no longer a need
We are a strong nation among men
Blessings from God we don’t want to hear
Too strong and big to need God within

Other nations have made the same mistake
Turned their backs and watch their country crumble
They grew mighty, they grew strong
Left their God behind, forgot to be humble

I see things in the future I don’t want to know
I try to ignore them, turn my thoughts aside
But the message grows clearer
I can no longer be silent and hide

Our nation once mighty, on top of the world
Repeats history and grows weak within
I fear for all mankind in this great nation
When God turns his back and doesn't’t know them
